A new video games fund called Transcend Fund has raised $50 million. The Fund will focus on investing in early-stage studios.
The fund is prepared to invest in projects in any genre and on any platform. Investments will range in size from $200,000 to $2 million. Those will mostly be made through seed investments or Series A rounds.
Some investments aready made include providing part of the $12 million raised last week by Nifty Games, as well as other multiple deals “that will come to light soon,” according to VentureBeat.
The fund is headed Shanti Bergel, who was in charge of product management and corporate development at Electronic Arts, FunPlus, Playfish, and Gree.
