The workforce of Supercell has become smaller, reports MobileGamer, referencing posts from laid-off employees on social media.

According to MobileGamer, since the end of 2025, the Finnish giant has reduced at least some key staff members working in its North American studios. It is reported that some specialists are finishing their final weeks. For instance, among those affected is Steve Desilets — co-founder of one of Supercell’s branches in the United States.

Desilets recently wrote on LinkedIn that Supercell decided to cancel the game his studio was working on and disband the project team. Whether this means that Supercell will soon completely close the branch is unknown.

Supercell has not publicly commented on the situation. MobileGamer has reached out for comment but has not yet received a response.

Interestingly, over the weekend it became known about large-scale layoffs at the studio Metacore, which is set to become a subsidiary of Supercell. As part of restructuring, Metacore closed its offices in Germany and Sweden, as well as laid off 159 employees in Finland, thus parting with the majority of its workforce. It should be noted that Supercell announced plans to acquire the creators of Merge Mansion earlier in May, but the deal has not yet been finalized.
