Microsoft and Activision have reportedly established a new game development team. It will focus on first-party projects with smaller budgets and will work as part of Blizzard Entertainment.

June 2024 was marked by the launch of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring, which helped the game return to the top of the charts. Overall, video game spending in the US declined slightly year-over-year.

It appears that another indie company has been hit with layoffs. Publisher Armor Games Studios recently laid off an unknown number of workers.
