The Swedish studio Landfall Games has officially announced the launch of a publishing label called Evil Landfall.

In an interview with GamesIndustry, Evil Landfall’s CEO Kirsten-Lee Naidoo explained that technically, the publishing team emerged within Landfall Games three years ago but operated in a “hidden” mode. Essentially, back then, it only published the studio’s own games and occasionally financed external projects, so there was no pressing need to announce it publicly. Now, however, Evil Landfall wants to expand its scope of activities.

Evil Landfall is primarily interested in games similar to the mountaineering simulator Peak, the cooperative horror Content Warning, and other projects from Landfall Games’ portfolio.

“We feel like we already have an audience established that likes games to play with friends: silly, physics-based projects.[…] We haven’t really considered supporting, like, a narrative game, because we don’t really know how those games function and how to sell them. We don’t have experience there,” Naidoo explained.

At present, Evil Landfall will only provide studios with project-based funding and game development advice. According to Naidoo, partner studios can expect investments around a million dollars, but if their game proves particularly impressive, the amount could increase.

One of the first projects to be released with Evil Landfall’s support will be the cooperative fishing simulator How To Fish by Dazed Games, which is set to launch at the end of 2026.
