Credit for crossing the milestone should be given to the recent release of the game’s PC version, reports the analytics company Alinea Analytics.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

As calculated by analysts, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach sold 425,000 copies on Steam alone, with an additional 1.6 million copies sold on PlayStation 5 consoles. Furthermore, some copies were purchased by users of the Epic Games Store, although the exact number is unspecified.

The total revenue from Death Stranding 2: On the Beach across all platforms was estimated by analysts to exceed $150 million.

Interestingly, analysts noted a new surge in the game’s sales on PlayStation 5 following its PC release. According to their observations, a day after its release on Steam and the Epic Games Store, daily sales of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach on consoles reached 12,800 copies. However, it’s important to note that another significant factor contributed to the increase in console sales—a major discount in the PlayStation Store. Nonetheless, during previous sales, the game did not perform nearly as well on consoles as it did this time.

Currently, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has 95% “overwhelmingly positive” reviews on Steam, and its rating in the Epic Games Store is 4.9 out of 5 stars. As for the PlayStation version, it holds a score of 4.87 stars.

It should be recalled that the console release of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach took place on June 26, 2025. The game became available on PC from Kojima Productions on March 19, 2026.
