Sony has temporarily stopped selling games in China. The company took to social network Weibo to announce indefinite suspension of PlayStation Store China. The reason for the temporary closure is a “system security upgrade.”
Capcom’s revenues declined 18.4 percent year-over-year to ¥81.6 billion ($766 million). This, however, didn’t stop the company from reporting ¥15.95 billion ($150 million) in net profits, which is 27.1 percent more that in the fiscal year 2019.
In its latest report, Newzoo projects that in 2020 video games industry will generate $159.3 billion in revenue, up 9.3 percent from 2019. This will come from 2.7 billion gamers around the world.
Tokyo Game Show 2020 that was scheduled to run from September 24th to 27th, has been cancelled. The organizers are now planning an online event.
The US PS Store posted April’s top games by downloads. There are separate top 10 charts for premium titles, free-to-play, DLC, and PlayStation VR.
Last year added another 100 million players to Fortnite. Epic’s hit battle royale is now played by more than 350 million people.
