Steam’s seasonal sales are definitely one of the best events to boost interest in older hit games. And Frost punk developer 11 bit studios has some nice stats to prove it.

Frostpunk sold over 400k units in less than two weeks during Steam Summer Sale

Frostpunk has sold over 400k units in less than two weeks since the start of the Steam Summer Sale, 11 bit studios announced on social media.

“1 copy every 2.3 seconds — that’s how quickly Frostpunk is selling during the Steam Summer Sale,” the studio noted.

These are really impressive numbers, and what’s even more interesting is that the game hasn’t even cracked the top 100 on Steam’s Weekly Global Top Sellers chart in the last two weeks.

One of the possible reasons is that Frostpunk sells at a historically low 90% discount. During the Summer Sale, its base US price is just $2.99, and Steam ranks games on its Top Sellers chart based on weekly gross revenue, not copies sold.

In April, 11 bit studios also revealed that Frostpunk has sold over 5 million copies globally in the six years since its 2018 launch. The company added that the average playtime in the game is 24 hours, with 3% of users playing it for more than 1,000 hours.

With new the milestone announced today, Frostpunk’s lifetime sales stand at around 5.5 million units.

The sequel is expected to come out on September 20. Frostpunk 2 ranks 3rd among Steam’s most wishlisted upcoming games, behind only Hollow Knight: Silksong and Black Myth: Wukong.
