Chinese studio 24 Entertainment launched an open beta of its debut game Naraka: Bladepoint using the Playtest tool. The new battle royale has already become one of the most popular games on Steam, hitting over 140,000 concurrent players.

Naraka: Bladepoint’s open beta went live on April 23. Users could request access to it by clicking a special button on the game’s page. Steam officially released this new feature last week, allowing developers to run playtests with the help of the community.

The title attracted over 120,000 peak players in the first 24 hours since the launch of open beta. On April 25, Naraka: Bladepoint reached 145,000 concurrent players. It helped the title become the 7th most popular game on Steam, leaving Path of Exile, Rainbow Six Siege, and Warframe behind.

Naraka: Bladepoint is a 60-player battle royale action game, with its gameplay focusing on parkour, melee combat, and grappling hook. The game also gained a lot of attention thanks to its character creation tool. 24 Entertainment even hosted a special contest for authors of the best characters.
