Following Sony’s decision to temporarily delist Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt has seen its stock value drop further 15 percent. This is a 40 percent decline since December 4.
Clearly, the situation will have a lasting impact on the company’s reputation and will potentially affect lifetime sales. According to Niko Partners’ Daniel Ahmad, changes in DLC release dates are also possible.
CDPR has built a lot of trust over the years. The buggy launch of Cyberpunk 2077 has ruined some of it — we are yet to see to what extent exactly. Hopefully, though, the company can deliver on its promises to fix the game in the foreseeable future. More importantly, though, CDPR needs to seriously rethink its management style, as well as the communication strategy that has so far been suboptimal.
