Epic Games unveiled a new iOS app called Live Link Face for Unreal Engine.
The app streams high-quality facial animation in real time from your iPhone directly onto characters in Unreal Engine.
Live Link Face uses Apple’s ARKit and the iPhone’s TrueDepth front-facing camera for facial tracking, including head and neck rotation data. The app is suitable for various production scenarios ranging from professional mocap stages for multiple actors to a solo artist’s desk.
With the new app, Epic Games aims to further democratize real-time tools for virtual production.
