Blizzard announced it will not be running BlizzCon 2020 citing uncertainty around national and local health guidelines in the months ahead.

The organizers said they are considering an online alternative, but even so, it can only be expected to happen sometime next year. As for Blizzard esports events normally taking place at the show, the company is exploring ways to run them this year.

For the last 7 years, BlizzCon 2020 was held in November, so this is Blizzard cancelling it six months ahead. It’s the third time the BlizzCon organizers have decided to skip a year since BlizzCon was first held in 2005.
